andy ash: all the colours

The last two to three years have been particular fruitful for Andy Ash. The Liverpool-based producer has been delivering some golden electronic projects like the EP’s Lightbulb (Quintessentials) and Unconcious Therapy (Delusions of Grandeur) and the LP Not At Home (Still Music). His new project, via Quintessentials, All The Colours arises from Andy’s blend of music and visual art in an attempt to try and identify the common ground between the two, presenting 8 tracks sitting in the crossroads of deep house, acid and techno, attempting to convey the a huge range of human identities - at first you see and hear euphoria and playfulness, but look a little closer and you will also notice anger, sadness and tension.

Created over a period of two years, All The Colours is a very personal project, made in a time in which the main protagonist was going through mental health problems. The album represents his attempts to channel this energy into something productive and the result couldn’t be more satisfying. Andy’s music is both classy and ‘nasty’. Angelical and naughty. And we relate to that. From his home studio, using a mixture of analogue hardware and samples, Andy Ash makes a strong statement and presents one of our favorite projects of the season. Available on vinyl, courtesy of Quintessentials.
