Bluestaeb & S. Fidelity present Underground Canopy is a special release. Via MENACE, a Paris & Tokyo based label and creative collective, the EP comprises seven tracks exquisitely performed by Underground Canopy, a five-piece band influenced by neo soul, jazz-infused instrumental hip hop and acts such as Yesterday’s New Quintet, BadBadNotGood or Butcher Brown. Bluestaeb and S. Fidelity, frequent collaborators, recognized the raw creative potential of Underground Canopy and shaped their demos into six fully arranged and fully grown songs. Plus a ten-minute uncut jam.

The first body of work from Underground Canopy is the result of endless improv sessions and re-interpretations of their heroes. The approach to compositions was always to transform the vibe of jazzy hip hop into handmade live music. Through MENACE label founder Midori the band met Bluestaeb and S. Fidelity some years ago. Together they polished the mesmerizing music played by Underground Canopy, creating a canvas in which each element breathes freely. Coming out tomorrow, this is an impressive record.
