c.tappin: ashes to ashes

See this content in the original post

C.Tappin has come to our attention in September of last year, collaborating in the mesmerizing Uhuru album with Summers Sons duo (Turt and Slim.). As a pianist/singer, based in South-London, he is leading for the first time a project of his own - Ashes To Ashes is Tappin's debut solo EP, and a deeper introduction into his creative space.

A reflection of a musical and personal journey, on four original jams Tappin fuses cosmic jazz, broken beat, house and rap, inspired by his life in London as well as by his travels to Tanzania where he has been working in various school projects. Ashes To Ashes also comes with three radical reworks by some of Tappin's favourite producers: Slim, Reginald Omas Mamode IV and Hodini. The album is dropping tomorrow through Melting Pot and a vinyl edition will be available. The beautiful cover artwork has been done by painter/illustrator Tilly Mint (known for her artworks for Yazmin Lacey and Wu-Lu).
