Seven years ago Medlar was asked by Dele Sosimi’s label to remix the title track from his last album, You No Fit Touch Am. That celebrated remix resulted in a collaboration between the U.K.'s very own Afrobeat Ambassador and a producer who’s been at the forefront of the South London electronic music scene for over a decade. Two years after their first recorded output, the Full Moon EP, the duo returns with the State Of Play EP, released by Wah Wah’s 45.
State Of Play EP is a heavy hitting four tracker that features special guests like Tamar Osborn of Collocutor fame, and South African rising star Zito Mowa, as well as a pair of Dele and Medlar's most popular jams from their live sets, perfectly baked for the dancefloor. As per usual, Medlar’s respect for the history of Afrobeat shines through with his musical instincts matching Dele Sosimi’s unbelievable groove - like a tree that keeps on giving after all these years. Available on vinyl, State Of Play comes with a visual impressove artwork from in-house art director Animisiewasz.
