felipe gordon: superimposition

See this content in the original post

Preparing for a world tour in underground prominent clubs around the world, Felipe Gordon is already an established name in the deep house scene, delivering gold record after gold record for quite some time now (most of them selling out on vinyl). His new EP Superimposition, released on French label Noire & Blanche, is another one of those - just in 2021 Gordon released eight amazing projects on labels such as Groovin Recordings, Shall Not Fade, Heist or Razor N Tape, while in 2022 he presented The Sundowners via Upstairs Asylum. Superimposition keeps his trademark sound, but always exploring new ways of bringing jazz, house, acid and hip hop in a joint groove.

Gordon’s unique sonic touch, intertwining elements of raw analogue sounds from his synth collection and a strong hip hop sampling background are allowing him to explore and revisit his influences to craft a solid musical signature. Gordon’s ability to blend complex jazz instrumentation with acid-licked basslines, golden-age house aesthetics and the cultural sounds of South America is, at the moment, unrivalled. That is evident in Superimposition, comprised by an eclectic collection of six tracks. From the solid deep house club burners (“Ventana Al Tiempo”, “Inherently Deep”), passing by acid breakbeats textures (“Superimposition”), and soft afterhours hip-hop downers (“Feeling All Over It”). Available on vinyl, this is a record to keep in the bag to play it out loud in the club, but also to play at home when the sun settles off on long summer evenings.
