foshe: rhonda's ii
We first came across foshe’s output in the amazing downunderground compilation, released back in 2019 by La Sape Records. Contributing with one track to that record, we were then surprised by Nice To Meetcha, which dropped almost three years ago. Their new project is the second part of the Rhonda’s series, wihch comprises live compositions recorded in Rhonda's Bar, Terrigal located just a few km north of Sydney.
Like their previous output, Rhonda’s II blends house music and meditative soundscapes with heavy, polyrhythmic grooves. The live feeling of the record is palpable, as well as the 100% improv mentality that is in the base of these 6 tracks. The trio performance evolves and involves, with superb instrumentation and a layer of background noise that gives the all thing a special texture. Available on Bandcamp.
