jeen bassa: cassava pone

See this content in the original post

Jeen Bassa presents us a beat tape-style album, Cassava Pone - as eclectic as the influences roaming inside the producers mind. Courtesy of 22a, the project came out last week, featuring Mo Kolours, Al Dobson Jr, Reginald Omas Mamode IV and Shepherd Manyika. Jeen Bassa delivers his signature head nodding and woozy productions - Cassava Pone excites and surprises at every turn. Following the path of the best beat tapes from Dilla to Madlib.

Heavily influenced by Bassa’s Mauritian roots, the LP traverses Aboriginal and pan African sounds, with dense layers of percussion and samples from his fatherland. The 18-track project follows up on his hugely successful All My People and Timewaves LP’s, also released through 22a. Limited to 300 copies, this is a vinyl-only release. Don’t sleep.
