kareem ali: godson of house: the album

The Godson of House Music, Kareem Ali, dropped his highly awaited album in the middle of last Saturday night. Following up on a young, but stellar discography, Godson Of House: The Album is the first record released by the newly created CosmoFlux imprint and continues the path of glory for the multi-instrumentalist, producer, composer based in the state of Arizona. Kareem’s touch is unmistakable, connecting to previous works like the magnificent Within Your Self, Quantum Blackness, All These Moments or Black Energy (and many more - go dig), but he’s able to always diversify and surprise. And that is one of the reasons that make Kareem Ali such a special artist. His vision is clear and stylistically so well defined, with abundant inclusions of dreamy elements, warm textures and emotional melodies, but his output is diverse and influenced by a myriad of different schools of musical knowledge.

Godson Of House: The Album conveys messages of resistance towards opression and difficulty, sounds of energy, colorful dreamscapes and a tangible optimism, wrapped around a truly unique approach to house and dance music. Hands to the sky in “Black Space Fusion” or “Reach For The Galaxy (Thank You Frankie)”; mind-escape moments in “Stay Strong” or “Miss Brown Sunshine”; cool dance moves on “Nu Feel” and a couple of skits and interludes that add up the texture and style of the whole album. The wait for this special Kareem Ali record is over. It’s time to enjoy it. In the club, commuting, at home, with company, alone. Available on Bandcamp, we keep opening up space in a special crate for Kareem’s vinyl’s.
