Following years of collaboration with acts such as Nubiyan Twist, Scrimshire or ONIPA, the multi-dimensional creative force of Kweku Sackey releases his first solo album through a collaboration between Heavenly Sweetness and Pura Vida Sounds. The title Zone 6, Agege refers to a little coastal suburb in Accra the capital of Ghana, where K.O.G. (Kweku of Ghana) grew up and acquired the culture and social experiences to develop his creativity and love for art. In 15 tracks he pays homage to his nature, nurture and future with sounds and stories that celebrate African rhythms, connecting them with rest of the world.

K.O.G. shows are known to be unique experiences, where he express his shamanistic, fierce raps, perfectly on pitch singing across a massive vocal range and some absolutely wicked dance moves. Kweku brings this quasi-mystical, mysterious qualities to this record. Zone 6, Agege sounds like a mixture of cosmic spiritualistic moments with dance and ecstasy. Recorded in November of 2020, this project finally sees the light of day, as a beautiful tribute to the Accra-born artist’s musical roots, and as an expansive engagement with music of the Black Atlantic, most notably hip hop and dub/reggae. Available in vinyl, courtesy of Heavenly Sweetness & Pura Vida Sounds.
