minus & mrdolly: broken hearts make broken beats

See this content in the original post

Following the acclaimed Man With A Plan, the Porto-based producer Minus & MRDolly returns to our decks with a new release entitled Broken Hearts Make Broken Beats, via his own imprint Jazzego. Comprised by three original tracks and remixes by Max Graef and Pedro, Minus blends elements of brit-funk and broken beat with his trademark groovy instrumentals. In fact, Broken Hearts Make Broken Beats marks a departure from his previous works, spinning on instrumental hip hop vibes, that nonetheless are present in the spirit of this project.

This new EP is the result of a collaboration between Minus & MRDolly, Sérgio Alves (keys) and Hugo Danin (drums) that was made possible by João André, who was in charge of mixing two of the original tracks. The trio rearranged and transformed previous ideas from Minus & MRDolly and were able to find, in a magnificent way, the sweet-spot between a live recording aesthetic and the electronic universe of dance music. Broken Hearts Make Broken Beats is a rare project in the portuguese music scene, cementing Minus & MRDolly as one of the most interesting artists hailing from the country. Via Jazzego, the EP will be available on vinyl by the end of the month. For the collectors.
