The reputable WOLF Music welcomes Amsterdam’s Retromigration, one of those house music producers that we’ve been paying very close attention in the past two years. Hotly tipped and rarely skipped, Retromigration has been lighting up the scene with a string of killer releases on labels like Healthy Scratch, Ltd, W/Lbl, GLBDOM and Ravanelli Disco Club. Now he joins the WOLF family to deliver Bloom Street EP, a five-track summertime sizzler, ready-made for hazy parkside sunsets and beach jaunts alike.

Retromigration has be honing a very distinct sound. Groovy, soulful, jazzy… keen to flex a signature chopped and looped style that is present in Bloom Street. The EP starts with a double dose of house joints: the title-track is a bumpin’ New York nodding cut, while “Brining It” is a synth heavy roller. Flipping the record we find a more jazz-tinged affair. “Free Spirit” channels a mesmerizing groove that could last forever and Arthur Dudley joins for “One Night With Colin” - a late night, smoked out, jazz joint trip. “Slick Walkin’”, ending the EP, is a lesson in how to make a great use of sampling, as piano melodies flicker over a double nice bassline and tasty synth touches. Available on vinyl, Bloom Street EP is one of the essential records in the deep house scene for this summer. Make sure you don’t miss this…
