sivey: nobody else / somebody samebody

With two original tracks that exemplify the ever-evolving progression of Sivey’s sonics, his new EP released through CoOp Presents, reflects his orientation around jazz and obscure ‘70s fusion records, with a love for the resurgent broken beat movement. Rooted in hip hop production, that brought him notoriety in the future beats scene a couple years back, Sivey has continued to experiment with new ways of exploring diverse influences in his instrumental trips.

On Nobody Else / Somebody Samebody his trademark deep keys and synth sounds remain intact, although nestled alongside more uptempo grooves, and the lush rhythmic complexity of bruk music. Selectors Assemble crew member Danvers adds in his own tasty heads-down version of “Nobody Else”, and label co-founder IG Culture provides a dope bruk-funk flip of “Somebody Samebody” to close out the set. This is another essential wax release from CoOp Presents.
