sofatalk: million toes ep

SofaTalk is an habitué on this platform… the Italian producer has been under our radar for a while, as one of our favorite acts in the deep house, broken-beat, nu-jazz scene. His new EP, released via Boogie Cafe, is a ‘must’ for those who lean towards that part of the musical spectrum where deep house blurs into nu-jazz and broken beat. Million Toes EP is a groovy trip through these boundaries, with total creative freedom to explore new ways of approaching his trademark sound.

“Chances” opens the EP’s proceedings, introducing hints of 80s jazz-funk flava, whereas “Strutt” provides a deep, jazzy house perspective. On to the Side B with the title-track, which is a more laidback and introspective piece that'll appeal to those who dig the likes of Thundercat or Opolopo, before finally we come “Little One”, a far more freeform and experimental affair. Million Toes EP is another high karat gold release from Cognitiva Records’ boss. Available on Bandcamp, courtesy of Boogie Cafe.
