After four EP’s of VA projects, the French imprint Broken District releases its first mini LP: South Side, by SofaTalk, an Italian producer that has been under our radar for a while, as one of the best new acts in the broken-beat, jazz-house scene.

Owner of Cognitiva Records, SofaTalk produces his most accomplished work to date, following projects released by Omena, YAM and Banoffee Pies. With South Side, Broken District also steps up as one of the labels to look up to.

Throughout six tracks, we cross jazz, broken beat, house and funk music elements. From bubbly basslines, addictive groovy keys, acid notes, jazzy perspectives to broken beat and deep house temperatures, South Side is as diverse as cohesive in its sound signature. The collaboration between the label and SofaTalk feels natural, as they share a mutual vision of music - a nifty blend of jazz and soul-influenced electronic music landscape.
