The partnership between Summers Sons (Turt rapping & Slim producing the beats) and the vocalist and pianist C. Tappin has its first album coming out by the end of this summer. The Uhuru project started back in 2015 and was inspired by the people and places of Tanzania. After three years of channeling that vibe into beats and bars, it is with pleasure that we welcome its jazzy textures and superb levels of hip hop flow. They like to call it cool bap.

Released last friday through Melting Pot Music, the story of Uhuru as two main chapters. The first one, with 14 tracks, has Turt's conscious words and C. Tappin's voice giving meaning to the brilliant instrumentals created by Slim, in his already unmistakable approach. The second chapter is composed solely by the instrumentals. There we feel the main colors of the album being slowly painted in a white canvas.

On conscientious rotations, Summers Sons & C. Tappin's Uhuru is our soundtrack for a night walking around the block. A summer breeze blows but there's an impending feeling of the autumn to come. Available in vinyl, Uhuru is a magnificent record, coming from the underground british hip hop scene.
