Announcing their forthcoming debut album - due to come out this spring - The Pendletons introduction couldn’t taste better. The funky soulful duo from San Francisco unveiled a 7’’ with a couple of tracks tapping into the classic soul/boogie sound that rides a wave of ‘70s and early ‘80s funk with ease. You Do You / Life to Me is the prelude for the 2 Steps Away LP, dropping through Bastard Jazz, following two previous projects: Funk Forever and Coming Down.

Recorded in San Francisco with a rock-solid band consisting of some of the best musicians in the Bay Area, the duo remains true to the excitement of that music-era, without being overly nostalgic. On this preview, the band showcases the uptempo disco/boogie slapper "You Do You" featuring legendary soul singer Howard Johnson, while on the flip we can find the sweet soul of "Life To Me", over an irresistible groove. Available on vinyl.
