Mother Tongue Records is a synonym of quality. Led by Patrick Gibin, this independent record label, vinyl pressing plant, distribution and online shop based in Verona has been dropping countless releases of the highest karat in the last couple of years. Their new Various Artists compilation, Madre Lingua, is a collection of songs born via the constant interactions among the artists that gravitated around Mother Tongue in the first two years since its opening.

On the back of this continuous exchange of musical ideas and vibes, label-head Patrick Gibin (who coordinates and produces many of the songs included) put his heart out onto this project, providing a canvas for an amazing roster of guest artists. Tommaso Cappellato, Tiombé Lockhart, Kaidi Tatham, K15, Mark de Clive-Lowe, EDB, Gary Superfly and the mysterious 黒舌 (Infectious Madness) bring their colourful and heartfelt contributions to this unique collection of songs. Madre Lingua is a tasteful and sophisticated record, connecting dots between club music, jazz and boogie in inventive ways. With no surprise, the quality of the guests corresponds to the quality of the music. Available on vinyl.
