Hiding under the moniker 2XM, Liam and Ben Murray have been delivering a number of stellar releases on some of the best electronic channels out there. Even though they are based at opposite corners of the earth right now, distance doesn’t seem to be an issue, as their signature lush and jazzy sound, included in their new Astral Lakes project, pays a smooth tribute to the more gentle tunes of the mid-2000’s, pre deep-house era
The 7-track cassette, curated by the german imprint Blaq Numbers (with the participation of Explorer of the Humankind and DJ Psychiatre), has a silken flavor of warm electronic and organic sounds. From emotional cuts like “Orien”, through the bliss of “The Power”, rising to true dancefloor bombs in the form of “You”, Astral Lakes is a true journey with Liam and Ben behind the steering wheel. Newly released, Astral Lakes is available on digital formats and on a limited edition tape.
