dundundun: future hope ep

Francisco Espregueira

Following the promising self-titled debut EP, released last year via Worm Discs and turning some serious heads, Dundundun are back with another exciting record of dancefloor-oriented jazz music. Having dropped last friday, again through Worm Discs, Future Hope EP delves into exciting new perspectives on jazz music and the sounds of the new broken-beat-jazz school.

Their second EP opens with a dubbed-out new school broken beat stomper in the form of “Future Hope”, featuring the incredible Nadeem Din-Gabisi on vocals. Track number two sees fellow Bristolian Red Rack'em flip the title-track into a drum heavy ecstatic house bouncer. The B-side walks on the wilder side with heavy percussion and synth workout “Midnight Manoeuvres”, before the heavy hornlines of the afro-brazilian infused afrobeat banger “Can Do” finishes the record in style. Available via Bandcamp, this is a record that you shouldn’t sleep on.
