Hailing from Ghetto de Ghent, MDC. is a producer and DJ that just dropped a surprising four-tracker that will make its rounds this summer and beyond. Released by WeZienWel Records, Para Mi Amigos is comprised by three original tracks that are sonically diverse but connected with the producer’s attraction for all things groovy and moody. The EP is completed by an anthemic Felipe Gordon reinterpretation of “Fonk”, making another high-karat-gold appearance on remix duties.
One can read in the linear notes that “when it comes to music, MDC. doesn't discriminate...” This attitude towards his production work can be felt in Para Mi Amigos. While “Fonk” is a groovy mixture of bouncy deep house vibes with jazzy, sunday service keys, “Simply Me” paints the canvas with dark thick tones, letting minimalist details shine brightly. “Iggy” is a sound for the conquerors of the night, incorporating uplifting transitions and acid textures. A fantastic Felipe Gordon Deep Jazz Slowmo Remix of “Fonk” rounds off things in style, stamping the first vinyl release of MDC. with the quality seal that you can usually find in here.
