okvsho: kamala's danz
Francisco Espregueira
Okvsho’s sophomore project arrives tomorrow to the digital stores and it’s a musical journey of immense talent and vision. Kamala’s Danz, dropping via Boyoom Connective, is a smooth trip through excellent choices of sounds, grooves and feelings, up and down the rivers of life that reflect a continuity and an evolution from the duo’s previous work Traphouse Jazz - effortlessly transitioning from sample based bedroom beats and loop heavy productions to self composed songs.
The Zurich-based brothers elevate their sound, adding more live instrumentation and inviting talented young musicians to the infamous Traphouse Studio, that gave name to the first EP. Dylan.Negativ, Sreya and Matondo help the duo to capture a broader range of emotions in this mesmerizing album, which opened up new possibilities and ways of story telling for Okvsho. Kamala’s Danz is composed by ten tracks. Each one of them is an anthem to beauty, groove and intention. Available in vinyl, through Boyoom, is an essential album for this fall.
