Following the surprising Midnight Movie EP, Shunaji presents her new project: Blue Melon. Intentionally presenting a self-reflective body of work. she expands her music production skills incorporating live instrumentation. Keeping that most rare, vital quality, in an MC intact: a distinctive, ear-pricking sense of flow.
Inspired by electronic music, trip-hop and abstract hip hop, Shunaji blends synth sounds and everyday-life samples to generate genre-bending tracks. Over eight months, Blue Melon was created into the idea of being other than what appears to the outside world, challenging common assumptions about continuity in music creation. The six-track project presents a multitude of sonic textures able to resonate with a diverse, worldwide audience. Available on cassette.
