yazmin lacey: when the sun dips 90 degrees

Francisco Espregueira

Through First Word Records a brand new EP from Yazmin Lacey - When The Sun Dips 90 Degrees. Illustrating a candid songwriting delivered in an uniquely laidback soulful style, whilst a glorious fusion of neo-soul and jazz plays smoothly on her back. Full moon shinning in the most beautiful stage on earth. It follows the beautiful self-released Black Moon, her debut EP, which combines Yazmin’s from-within lyrics with the vitality of jazz. When The Sun Dips 90 Degrees is an incredible follow up, showing growth and slightly different ideas of sounds.

Kicking off to the rest of the world right now, Yazmin Lacey has a voice and a heart that will play here for many years. London based, Nottingham raised. There’s a lot more to come from her yet. For now we take down a notch or two to appreciate her and her band in that quiet stage, illuminated by a full moon.

‘90 Degrees’ is about that time of the day / night when there’s a shift in pace and energy. When you decide to lock off from the ‘outside’ world and create your own atmosphere, take some time to give thanks for what’s breathing love into your life and smoke off the fuckeries. Everyone needs a little routine for self preservation.

Currently sold out, the vinyl version of When The Sun Dips 90 Degrees is currently being repressed and it will be available soon.
