bennelux: old to the new

Bennelux are Benncart and Lux Familiar, a producing duo based in London (UK) and Poznan (Poland). Their new mixtape is entitled Old to the New - a fresh and energetic take on hip hop music and culture released by Polish powerhouse Astigmatic Records. Deeply connected to all the elements derived from hip hop, Bennelux use recipes from the past to create something new, with high bpm’s steadily driving us through urban rhythms and cinematic feelings of 90’s New York City.
While the majority of this project was recorded in 2014 - at that time honoring the life of juke/footwork pioneer DJ Rashad - Old to the New sounds fresh and unique, moving to the current fast-moving field of juke and footwork descending from Chicago.
